Mom bought me this material in Germany. I tried to be clever and not have too many seams, in order to keep the sheep design aligned. The fronts ended up not matching, however there were no side seams, so the design is not interrupted. The collar was made with the leftover fabric. There was only one problem, Nicolas has too large of a stomach to wear something that is cut so straight.
I have some more of this material left over, and will most likely still be able to sew a vest with it. I think I will save that project for next year.

Ottobre Baby Jeans 1/2005





Just finished making the following pattern with an orange stretch jeans material. The material is wonderful, and the pattern was quite easy to follow. The only problem I had was with the waistband. Ottobre had you measure the childs waist and then remove 7-9cm. Then you joined the ends of the elastic, and attached it to the wrong side of the waistband. Then you stitch the waistband through all layers. This stretched the elastic so much that I had to remove my first elastic because it was way too big. I dont think I will follow this method again. Instead I decided to copy a pair of pants that my mother bought for him in Germany. In that case, no seam allowance was stitched through the elastic. Instead there are two s.a. stitched below the elastic. This is a size 80.
