More Ottobre Shorts 3/2006

I decided to finish three pair of shorts all at once this time. No need to cut out each pattern seperately. I left out alot of the details like the patch pockets and belt loops. No need for all of the excess fabric. It is just too hot in Florida to add any extra bulk. I got the striped fabric from www.handmades.com, and the jeans fabric from Joann's. I combined the two fabric on both pair of shorts.

I also finished a matching tshirt from pattern #301 Creative Workshop. This pattern was interesting. According to the instructions they teach you to put the tshirt together as would be case with professional industrial standards. According to the instructions, you sewed the hems before you put the garment together. I used my coverstitch and my 5-thread safety stitch to make this pattern. I hate switching out the threads all the time. If I did not have to do that, it would take half as long to finish the tee. This was a size 92, and I think it will do just fine. The size 86 was too small. I cannot wait to start on my next project.

Coincidence, Fate and Irony

Very ironic that after all that heartbreak earlier this week that I am late getting my period. I finally push Lance to bring home a pregnancy test after ignoring it all week. The results were immediate. Positive. I did not know what to feel. Excited. Drained. Stupid. Our life is just so perfect right now, besides our losing Chanty of course. Nicolas, is almost three years old, and is just so dependent. Every morning he jumps out of his bed, and comes running down the hallway into our bedroom. I pick him up and slide him under the covers between my husband and myself. Then we smother him with kisses on each cheek, while he giggles happily. FUN! He is at a great age. Will I miss something having another baby? Then I started to think about being pregnant. Being pregnant was such a beautiful time in my life. I loved watching this baby grow and my tummy with it. I did want this baby. I wanted Nicolas to have a sister or brother to turn to in time of need. I know he would make a great big brother. He is such a gentle and kind child....moody, but kind. Maybe this is a sign that I have another chance to do it better...not perfect....but better this time. It is a good thing. I am excited and happy. Most importantly so is Lance. So here we go again..........

My first Child

Chanty turned 14 yesterday, and today we had to put him to sleep. This week was one of the worst weeks I thought could ever possibly exist. I miss him terribly. He was a great dog. He loved everything and everyone. He could sit in my lap for hours and just be cuddled. Such a loving big heart and so pretty. My first baby. He got sick over the weekend. He just stopped eating, and things went downhill from there. The doctors could not exactly say what the problem was, but knowing his history of skin problems, we were happy that he reached this age. It was so scary, and when it was all over, we realized the signs had been there for a long time. He spent most of his days sleeping. His eyesight had rapidly deteriorated in the last year, and he was not willing to take walks anymore. I blamed it on his stubbornness (not at all uncommon amongst this dog race).Well, Chanty I just wanted to say goodbye. I know you are in a better place, healthy and happy. I love you and miss you. Thank you for being such a great dog and a good friend.
